Storm girls and Rapids boys’ hockey teams win and earn trip to state tournament
The Central Wisconsin Storm girls’ hockey team makes their sixth straight trip to the state tournament after beating Northland Pines 4-1 Friday night in Tomahawk in a sectional final heard on 1230 The Voice. Alex Guenther had two goals while Kelly Knetter and Kylie Gazzolo each added goals as well. The Storm advances to state to meet Onalaska in a semifinal next Friday in a rematch of last years’ state final. The Storm-Onalaska state semifinal can be heard on 1230 The Voice and 1230wxco.com starting with the pregame show at 11:30 a.m.
The Wisconsin Rapids boys’ hockey team returns to state for the first time in three years after beating West Salem 3-0. The Red Raiders will play in a state quarterfinal on Thursday in Madison.
