Pointer men wrap up regular season in style by doubling up Blugolds
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Stifling defense and an efficient offensive attack in the final game of the regular season allowed the UW-Stevens Point men’s basketball team to cruise past visiting UW-Eau Claire, 68-34.
Trevor Hass (New London, WI/New London/Augustana (SD)) set the pace early by hitting a 3-pointer in each of the Pointers’ first three possessions of the game.

Clayton Heuer (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln/UW-Green Bay) scored in the paint 5:30 into the second half to give UWSP a 47-26 lead, and a jumper by Alex Richard (Spring Green, WI/River Valley) three minutes later pushed the advantage to 56-26. The UWSP lead never dipped below 30 points for the remainder of the game.
Hass led all scorers with 15 points, 11 of which came in the first half.
Richard scored 13 points and added eight rebounds while Heuer scored eight points to go along with nine boards.
