Boys’ BB: Merrill upsets DCE, East tops WR and Mosinee falls to Antigo among the action
Any hopes D. C. Everest had of a share of the Wisconsin Valley Conference championship ended on Tuesday as the Evergreens fell to Merrill 45-35 at the Everest Fieldhouse. After trailing by two points at halftime, the Blue Jays took charge with a 12-4 edge in the third quarter. David Jesperson had 19 points and Jake Anderson 12 for Merrill while Zach Finnegan led DCE with 10 points.
Conrad Felten had 19 points and Wausau East won at Wisconsin Rapids 46-41. Justin Strom added 9 points for the Lumberjacks, who improved to 5-14 overall and 3-8 in the WVC. Alex Bassuener had 13 points for the Red Raiders.
Antigo broke open a tight game by outscoring Mosinee 18-8 in the fourth quarter and the Red Robins beat the Indians 55-43 in a Great Northern Conference game. Mac Oreskovic was huge for Antigo with 29 points.
