Girls’ BB: East earns last second win while Everest gets big non-conference victory
In a non-conference game with potential post-season seeding implications, the D. C. Everest girls’ basketball team beat Eau Claire North 53-41 at the Everest Fieldhouse on Monday night. Brianna Ziolkowski had 26 points to lead the Evergreens, who improve to 12-4. North is also 12-4 and got 17 points from Kayona Lee.
Wausau East rallied from a 10 point deficit after the first quarter and beat Mosinee 43-41. Hannah Euting’s rebound and put-back basket at the buzzer won it for the Lumberjacks. Vanessa Boorse had 15 points for East while Brittany Dulak had 12 for the Indians. East improves to 3-13 overall while Mosinee drops to 8-8.
Athens rolls past Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 64-21. Courtney Slivinski and Savanah Jahnke each had 10 points for the Blue Jays while Erin Gajewski added 9. Kristin Danner had 9 points for WVL.
