Wausau West hockey team rolls past #8 Northland Pines

After a tough weekend the Wausau West hockey team bounces back in a big way Monday night. The 7th ranked Warriors snapped a three-game losing streak and beat #8 Northland Pines 5-0 in a game heard on 1230 The Voice and 1230wxco.com. Sam Wiegert made 32 saves to earn his 7th shutout of the season for West. Kevin Conley gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead with just 17 seconds left in the first period as he took a feed from Andrew Lee and beat Eagles’ goalie Jacob Stephan. West would add goals in the second period from Justin Anderson and Alex Gessler to lead 3-0 and then put it away with goals from Tanner Gould and Marshall Oja in the third period. West improves to 12-6-1 with the win while Pines drops to 14-4.
