HS hockey: West stays unbeaten in WVC with win over East plus other action
Drew Pearson scored twice to lift the Wausau West hockey team to a 5-1 win over Wausau East in the 32nd annual Kuehlman Cup game at Marathon Park on Thursday night. West stays perfect in the Wisconsin Valley Conference at 6-0 and wins their sixth straight to improve to 9-3-1 overall. Andrew Dehnel got East off to a good start with a goal at 7:29 of the first period to give the Lumberjacks a 1-0 lead. However, East couldn’t get much offense going and was outshot 51-11. Adam Parsells, Justin Anderson, and Alex Gessler also had goals for the Warriors, who will travel to Madison Edgewood on Saturday in a game that will be broadcast on 1230 The Voice and 1230wxco.com starting with the pregame show at 12:30 p.m.
