Pointer women’s hockey team tops Marian
FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women’s hockey team skated past Marian University in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association action Wednesday evening, 4-1.

Marian got on the board first as Erin Dunphy gave the Sabres the 1-0 advantage eight minutes into the game.
Six minutes later Shauna Bollinger (Menomonie, WI/Menomonie) got the Pointers on the board knotting the game at 1-1, off the sticks of Nicole Schaub (Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) and Brooke Hanson (Maple Grove, MN/Maple Grove).
Emily Lester (Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) then gave UWSP the 2-1 lead with two minutes left in the period.
Bollinger found the back of the net again five minutes into the second, once again off the sticks of Schaub and Hanson.
Lester capped the Pointers scoring as she scored an empty net goal in the final minute, her second goal of the game.
UWSP returns to action Friday, Jan. 18 as it hosts UW-Eau Claire at Ice Hawks Arena. Action set for 7 p.m.
