Defending national champion Illinois Wesleyan no match for UWSP women on Saturday
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Taylor Bahr (Caledonia, WI/Shoreland Lutheran) scored a career-high 20 points as the No. 12 UW-Stevens Point women’s basketball team shot 50 percent from the floor to cruise past defending National Champion and 16th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan 84-49 Saturday afternoon.

Bahr shot 8-for-13 from the floor and 4-for-5 from the line.
The Pointers (6-3) took a 38-30 lead into halftime when Kaitlyn Jacobs (New Franken, WI/Green Bay Preble) grabbed an offensive rebound and scored in the final seconds of the half.
The Titans (5-4) scored on their first possession of the second half, but UWSP went on a 12-4 run to go up 50-36 when Myranda Tyler (Grafton, WI/Grafton) scored on a layup.
The Pointers held a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
UWSP held IWU to just 30.8 percent from the floor in the second half.
Sam Barber (Schofield, WI/D.C. Everest/Winona St.) scored 15 points and added nine rebounds in the win for the Pointers.
The Pointers travel to Wisconsin Dells on Thursday, Dec. 27 for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against MSOE.
