Ritchay’s career-high 27 points lifts UWSP men to win over Edgewood
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Joe Ritchay (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln) scored a career-high 27 points as the UW-Stevens Point men’s basketball team rolled by Edgewood College Saturday night, 63-48.

The Eagles held a 20-14 advantage midway through the first half, but a three-pointer by Ritchay sparked an 18-2 run and UWSP (9-0) took a 34-27 lead into the half.
The Pointer lead was cut to just four at 41-37 less than six minutes into the second half before UWSP pieced together a 14-2 run that was capped off by an offensive rebound and put-back by Alex Richard (Spring Green, WI/River Valley).
Ritchay shot 11-for-16 from the floor and a perfect 3-for-3 from behind the arc.
The UWSP defense held Edgewood (2-8) to just 34.5 percent shooting for the game and 31 percent in the second half.
The Pointers committed a season-low three turnovers.
UWSP travels to St. Paul, Minn., on Friday, Dec. 21 for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against No. 5-ranked St. Thomas.
