HS hockey: Storm girls stay perfect while Mosinee boys roll past Marshfield

The top-ranked Central Wisconsin Storm hockey team remains unbeaten after beating Marshfield 2-0 at Marathon Park in Wausau on Monday night. Kelly Knetter broke a scoreless tie 31 seconds into the second period to give the Storm the lead. Arielle Riedel added some insurance with a goal 4:52 into the second period. The Storm outshot the Tigers 31-11 as Alexis Straughan made 29 saves for Marshfield while Lisa Fowle stopped 11 shots in recording the shutout for the Storm.

The Mosinee boys’ hockey team scored four times in the first period and three more times in the second en route to a 7-4 win at Marshfield. Jared Sprink had two goals and an assist for Mosinee while Zach Pyan added a goal and two assists. Bobby Leggon had two goals for Marshfield.
