NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women’s hockey team came up short in its second game of back-to-back contests against St Olaf. The Pointers lost to the Oles 2-0 Saturday, just one day after defeating St. Olaf in the season-opener.

After a quiet first period, the Oles broke the scoreless game 13 minutes into the second period to go up 1-0.

With less than 30 seconds left in the contest, St. Olaf struck again, securing the game 2-0.

The Pointers outshot the Oles 35-26 on the afternoon, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Cassandra Salmen (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) led the way for the Pointers with five shots.

Sophomore Hillary Drake (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) tallied 24 saves while St. Olaf’s Ali Mckeever recorded 35.

UWSP returns to action Friday, Nov. 2 as it hosts a weekend series against Finlandia. Action is set for 5 p.m.
