Pointer women’s soccer team moves to 12-4 with shutout win Sunday at Edgewood
MADISON, Wis. – After a tough loss against league-leading UW-Whitewater on Saturday, the Pointers rebounded with a 3-0 win over the Eagles of Edgewood College Sunday afternoon.

Senior Jessica Ruch (Fond du Lac, WI/Fond du Lac) scored the only goal of the first half on an assist from Kim Jobke (Menomonee Falls, WI/Sussex Hamilton), seven minutes into the game, finding the upper right corner of the net.
In the 62nd minute, the Eagles defense failed to clear out a ball and Jobke made them pay, connecting on her sixth goal of the season to put the Pointers in front 2-0.
Less than eight minutes later, senior Sammy Greer (Rubicon, WI/Hartford) capped off the Pointers scoring, winning the battle for the ball right in front of the Eagles’ net.
Goalkeeper Kristen Churkey (Mosinee, WI/D.C. Everest) recorded the shutout, tallying four saves. Her counterpart Tori Fortney recorded one save.
UW-Stevens Point (12-4, 5-3 WIAC) returns to action Thursday, Oct. 25 as it travels to Waukesha to take on Carroll University in the last regular season game of the year. Action set for 6 p.m.
