Brewers make roster moves
Two Milwaukee Brewers veterans are opting for free agency and rejecting
assignments to the minor leagues. The Brewers outrighted pitcher Livan
Hernandez and catcher Yorvit Torrealba to their ‘AAA’ farmclub in Nashville,
but they will both exercise their right to become free agents instead.
Hernandez was picked up the Brewers in June after he was cut by Atlanta, and
he was 3-0 with a 7.68 ERA in 26 appearances for Milwaukee. Torrealba was
acquired from Toronto in September, and was hitless in five at bats for
Milwaukee. The Brewers are also adding reliever Jesus Sanchez to their 40-
man roster. Sanchez was a combined 7-3 with Nashville and ‘AA’ Huntsville
this year, and had ERA’s of under 2.00 with both teams.
