Former Badger RB Clay looking for a job and will work out for Bengals
Former Wisconsin Badger running back John Clay is looking for an NFL team,
and is working out this week with the Cincinnati Bengals. Clay was signed
by Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent last season, and spent most of the
year on the Steelers’ practice squad. He did play for Pittsburgh late in
the season, and scored one touchdown. Clay then suffered a torn quad muscle
during a practice in August and then reached an injury settlement with the
Steelers, making him a free agent. His agent says Clay is not completely
healthy, although he does have medical clearance to work out. The agent
says he expects Clay will work out for several other NFL teams in the near
future.
